Chronology of cameras Chinon
The Chinon 35 F-EE completes the series comprising the Chinon 35 EE and the Chinon 35 EE-II. Unlike these models, it features an integrated electronic flash, but as a trade-off, the rangefinder is removed. The frosted window above the lens only serves to illuminate a frame with parallax correction markers in the viewfinder.
The lens remains a 38 mm, but it is slightly less bright. The lens rotates within a rectangular protrusion that extends from the rest of the body. A knob protrudes from this part and allows for distance adjustment.
The shutter is electronically controlled.
In 1970, Chinon was still only a subcontractor for other camera brands. It was only around 1972 that the first cameras were marketed under the Chinon brand. At that time, it was easy to follow a naming logic for the first models:
EE = Electronic Eye
F = Flash
A = Autofocus

With the 35 FX III, Chinon reached the limits of its naming logic. Despite being called 34, this model no longer has anything in common with its predecessors.
